When does dectria recommend React Native over Flutter?

We recommend React Native when a team is already heavily invested in React and wants to share code between web and mobile. We choose Flutter when performance-critical animations, platform-specific features like CarPlay or a completely new project without an existing React ecosystem are the focus.

Can React Native access native device features?

Yes, React Native provides access to all device features through Native Modules - camera, GPS, Bluetooth, biometrics and more. With Expo, many of these features are already preconfigured. For special requirements, we also develop custom Native Modules in Swift or Kotlin.

How about the performance of React Native apps?

React Native uses real native components since the New Architecture and the JSI bridge for direct access to native APIs. For the vast majority of business applications, performance is identical to natively developed apps. Only for very animation-intensive apps or 3D rendering might native development offer advantages.
